Hogmanay 2020

There will be two ticketed events on at Stirling Castle Esplanade on Tuesday 31 December 2019.

The doors open for the first event at 7.15pm and the event finishes at 9.15pm. The doors open for the second event at 10.15pm and this will finish around 12.15am.

At 9.00pm there will be a fireworks display from the grounds of Stirling Castle lasting approximately 10 minutes. At midnight there will be a fireworks display simultaneously from the grounds of Stirling Castle lasting approximately 6 minutes.

The esplanade will be fully closed from 6.00pm on Hogmanay with no access to the public other than
ticket holders.

 

The following Traffic Management Measures will also be in place:


Ballengeich Road/Pass: Parking suspended from 9.00am on 31 December until 1.00am on 1January.


Ballengeich Rd / Pass / Lower Castlehill / Upper Castlehill: Road closed from 6.45pm on 31 December until 1.00am on 1 January.


Ballengeich Road (lower section)/Barn Rd/Lower Castlehill: Road closed with access restricted to residents only from 6.45pm on 31 December until 1.00am on 1 January. Residents should note that vehicle egress will be restricted and that the alternative suggested access / egress route to Barn Road and Lower Castlehill is via Upper Bridge Street.


Castle Wynd: Road closed from 6.45pm on 31 December until 1.00am on 1 January.


Broad Street; Closed to north-west bound traffic only (ie closed to traffic travelling from St Mary’s Wynd into Broad Street) from 6.45pm on 31 December until 1.00am on 1 January.

Broad Street will operate as a one way street for the duration of the event.
