On-Street Parking Spaces
The COUNCIL propose to make The Stirling Council (On-Street Parking Spaces for Disabled Persons No’s 19-25) Order 2022 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order will introduce disabled parking as follows:-
14 Alexandra Place, Riverside – TM/6 – SRO/2022(249)
Further details can be requested by e-mailing
traffic@stirling.gov.uk for three weeks from 27-7-22.
Objectors should send their reasons in writing to the Head of Service, Environment and Place by e-mailing traffic@stirling.gov.uk quoting the appropriate reference number by 17-8-22.
Objectors should be aware that their name and the grounds for objection may require to be released to the applicant for the disabled persons’ parking space.

School Streets Trial - Survey Results
You can find the summary report from Living Streets regarding the School Street Closure Trial here. Do let me know your thoughts once you have gone through it.
Stirling Council have informed us that Living Streets are looking at setting up a meeting with everyone in the next month or so, before publishing the final report, they will discuss the results further including the next steps.

On-Street Electric Parking Spaces -
Abbey Road
The COUNCIL propose to make The Stirling Council (Electric Vehicle On-Street Parking) (Consolidation and Amendment No 3) Order 2022 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
This Order:-
Proposes to introduce parking spaces specifically for electric vehicles on Queen Street and Upper Bridge Street, Stirling between the Hours of 8.45 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Saturday inclusive;
Subject to a charge of £1.20, £1.80 £ 2.30 and £3.20 for waiting up to 60 minutes, two hours, four hours and four hours + respectively; and to introduce spaces specifically for Electric Vehicles ‘At Any Time’ on Drip Road, Raploch, Abbey Road, Riverside and Bayne Street and Cowane Street, Stirling.

Stirling adds new mental health service for pupils ahead of Results Day
Ahead of Exam Results Day next Tuesday (9 Aug), Stirling Council has launched a new mental health service for local young people and is highlighting other available supports.
Kooth is the latest platform to offer online mental health and emotional wellbeing support for children and young adults in Stirling.

Regional Digital Hubs set to boost Stirling business
Stirling businesses will soon have new, additional high quality space to grow and stay local thanks to funding from the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal.
Plans to develop a trio of new Regional Digital Hubs were announced in February and work to open the first of the three has taken a step forward after Cllrs approved £500,000 of City Deal investment from the Scottish Government.

Rangers are back and ready to roll in Stirling
Stirling Council’s Greenspace Ranger service has been re-established with a full complement of staff.
The Rangers work to manage, maintain and promote greenspaces for both people and wildlife across the Stirling area. Officers work closely with council colleagues, local community groups, schools and the public to encourage enjoyment of the natural and cultural heritage of their sites.

Active travel transformation steps forward in Stirling
The next phase of Stirling’s active travel transformation will get underway in Causewayhead in August.
Walk, Cycle, Live Stirling – one of the cornerstone projects of the £90.2million Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal – will create two active travel arteries, connecting people and places in the heart of Stirling like never before.

Council Leader demands better pay offer to avert strikes
Stirling Council Leader Chris Kane has urged COSLA and the Scottish Government to provide an improved pay offer to staff after local Unions announced plans to strike.
Council workers at Stirling are among staff at nine local authorities across Scotland who have voted in favour of industrial action over a 2% pay increase offered to them by the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA).
