Hi Folks,

My name is Carol Robertson (Vice-Chair of Riverside Community Council) and I've recently taken ​​over organising the maintenance of all of the beautiful planters that we have spread around Riverside from Bob Dale.

​

Firstly, I'd like to thank Bob for all his efforts over a number of years to co-ordinate the maintenance of our planters. Sadly, Bob has a few too many things on his plate nowadays but will still remain involved, looking after some of the planters.

​

Do you know that we have 10 planters spread around Riverside? Many members of the community have adopted a planter to look after - topping up compost, making sure that they have sufficient water and planting new bulbs to grow for different seasons - we're currently planting new bulbs that will bring new life and colour for spring 2026.

​

Additionally, we are getting plaques made up with the names of our adopters, to be affixed to their respective planter. We do, though, have 3 planters still looking for members of the community who might like to create their own little oasis. It really isn't much work, you can be as creative as you want and we have compost, bulbs and other things available to help you look after your adopted planters. We also often coordinate a walk around as a group. Once we have these plaques affixed, we'll be taking photos of the planters and their maintainers and putting them up below.
