Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It is at the beginning of the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the Christian liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs and all the faithful departed. In popular culture, Halloween has become a celebration of horror and is associated with the macabre and the supernatural. No prize for guessing from whence the following comes...

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'all's neighbourhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell

 

How Is Riverside Celebrating Halloween?

Riversiders have a history of getting into the spirit of various festive seasons, such as the Christmas Advent Windows, and Halloween is no exception. In fact, Halloween is when many Riversiders go all out, decorating their homes, gardens and yards and opening up to the wee Riversiders as they Trick or Treat.

Here at Riverside Community Council, we want to thank everyone who participates in the great Riverside community spirit and, to make things a little easier, we've put together a list of some of the locations for our wee Riversiders to haunt, in search of treats...or to play tricks...
