As Christmas fast approaches, it's once again time for the famous Riverside Advent Windows to open their shutters.

​

Hi, we're Ann & Christine and we've taken over the organisation of the Advent Windows from Chara - who has done a magnificent job of this for years nearly uncountable - thanks, so much Chara!

 

For 9 years Riverside has been lighting up the dark December nights with window displays. Between the 1st and 24th December you can take a walk round Riverside and enjoy sparkling lights and festive scenes. 

 

Each year residents of Riverside pick a date and decorate their windows – the only requirement is that your window display contains some light. Many neighbours enjoy adding festive extras, though this is not a requirement – it’s not a competition and everyone is welcome to join in the fun. The more the merrier!

The Advent Windows have become our annual fundraising appeal for the maintenance of the 3 community defibrillators in Riverside (e.g. replacement pads and batteries). Anyone in Riverside is very welcome to join in and, so far, we have about 32 windows confirmed across the 24 dates but we are hoping to get even more people involved. We encourage everyone lighting up their window to also consider donating to our Just Giving page.
